Catalina Marketing, Skandia Technology Center and the Phoenix Companies Select
NetScout's nGenius Solution
WESTFORD, Mass., Nov. 12 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- NetScout Systems, Inc.
(Nasdaq: NTCT), a leading provider of enterprise-wide network performance
management solutions, today announced several new customers that have
purchased the nGenius(R) Performance Management System. By selecting the
nGenius Solution, these companies are gaining a unified solution with multiple
functionalities for optimizing the performance and controlling the costs of
delivering networked applications across complex environments.
Catalina Marketing, the global leader in behavior-based marketing, is
deploying the nGenius Solution as part of a global network re-engineering
project to provide redundancy, enhance network monitoring functions, and gear
up for emerging technologies such as Voice-over-IP. Catalina Marketing chose
the nGenius Solution for its ability to deliver a broad range of performance
management functionality and its ability to leverage existing bandwidth with
tighter capacity planning and quicker resolution of problems on the network.
For example, during the evaluation, Catalina Marketing was able to resolve
complex routing and performance problems that had previously been unsolvable
using traditional reporting and analyzer tools.
Skandia Technology Center, the IT services division of Skandia Insurance
Company Ltd, selected the nGenius Solution to manage the performance of
Skandia's global wide area network which supports over 6,000 employees in 20
countries throughout Europe, Latin America, Asia and Australia. Skandia
selected the nGenius Solution because it allowed them to address multiple
management needs from a single solution and avoid the data and tool clutter
caused by alternative suite solutions. Skandia will use the nGenius Solution
to perform monitoring and trending of network line utilization and the
resource consumption of individual applications being delivered across those
lines. Skandia liked the nGenius Solution's flexible reporting capabilities
that provide both executive & IT level reports, delivering to each group the
information needed to make better capacity planning decisions.
The Phoenix Companies, Inc., a leading provider of wealth management
products and services, purchased the nGenius Solution to monitor the
performance of its local and wide area networks supporting over 1,200
employees headquartered in Connecticut. The company selected the nGenius
Solution for its ability to report, track and trend on network and application
behavior, enabling them to improve capacity planning and network efficiency by
re-directing network resources where most needed.
"Many new customers come to NetScout to improve their success with new
technology roll-outs such as Voice-over-IP, virtual private networking as well
as network upgrades and re-designs," said Jim Frey, NetScout's vice president
of marketing. "The nGenius Solution helps customers understand the impact of
individual technologies on the network, giving them a complete picture of how
both new and existing applications are performing. With this visibility, they
can pinpoint problems more efficiently and make better decisions concerning
network resources."
The nGenius Performance Management System unifies network and application
performance management for the converging enterprise. NetScout's flagship
application, nGenius(R) Performance Manager, leverages the unified data made
available through NetScout's patent-pending CDMTM technology to deliver
consistent utilization, response time and availability metrics for application
monitoring, network monitoring, capacity planning, troubleshooting, fault
prevention and service level management -- all from a single fully integrated
