Analyst Jim Metzler Explains How A Unified Perspective of Infrastructure Performance Improves IT Decisions and Wins Corporate Mindshare

WESTFORD, Mass., Sept. 30 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- NetScout Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: NTCT), a leading provider of enterprise-wide network performance management solutions, today announced that it will host a series of seminars to bring cutting-edge views and advancements in management technology to IT organizations seeking to establish and demonstrate the value of infrastructure investments to business managers.

Entitled "Optimizing Your Network Game Plan," the seminars will be held in five major U.S. cities during the first half of November in San Francisco, Dallas, Chicago, Washington, D.C. and New York City.

Keynote speaker Jim Metzler, vice president of Ashton, Metzler and Associates will present results of the firm's latest research surrounding the significant challenges that IT organizations face in getting business managers to understand the relationships between infrastructure resources and the business services they support. In order to do this successfully, IT organizations must be able to show the linkages between infrastructure performance and the performance of key applications used by business units and end users.

The seminars will include presentations and interactive technology demonstrations utilizing a next-generation management information model that opens the door for cross-vendor integration of management data. NetScout will present its industry-leading CDM(TM) Architecture, an approach that provides a unified repository for detailed cross-vendor performance management information. OPNET Technologies, co-sponsor of the event, will present its approach for leveraging unified performance data by adding it to configuration and topology data for advanced analysis and modeling.

Network, LAN and WAN managers, network/IT directors, as well as executives of information technology, design, planning and architecture are invited to register for the event at http://www.netscout.com.

"Regardless of budget, every IT organization needs to prove how investments in infrastructure technologies are impacting the performance and costs of services for end users," says Jim Frey, vice president of marketing for NetScout Systems. "Today's IT managers are pressured to predict, manage and report how IT resources tie to business priorities. This seminar will show IT managers how to gain a more accurate perspective of how their infrastructures are being used, where improvements can be made and how investments line up with business goals."
