NETSCOUT Announces Record Attendance at Annual User Forum Conference

12 Oct 2004

WESTFORD, Mass., Oct. 12 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- NetScout Systems (Nasdaq: NTCT), a leading provider of enterprise-wide network and application performance management solutions, reported highlights from its annual NetScout User Forum conference held last week in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The third annual event was sold out, with attendance growing more than 50 percent over the previous year. The conference is becoming a central event for nGenius(R) Solution users and the NetScout User Forum, which now has more than 700 members worldwide. NetScout sponsors the forum's annual conference, regional events, training and Web tools to enable its growing community of advanced network managers, network architects and telecom managers from industry and government to share their knowledge in advanced applications of the nGenius(R) Performance Management System.

On opening night, NetScout unveiled a state-of-the-art "traveling lab" that will allow customers in more than 10 cities annually to receive face-to- face introductions and demonstrations on new technology, product features and enhancements released by NetScout.

On day 2, Anil Singhal, NetScout's President and CEO, discussed the state of the industry, significant trends and NetScout's strategy to respond. In addition, NetScout technical managers and customers held multiple sessions addressing current concerns among large enterprises, such as how to manage application traffic in wide area networks masked by encryption, how to assure voice quality and reliability in large networks, what constitutes compelling IT reports, and what are the best practices for managing performance across the enterprise.

On day 3, NetScout customers again took the stage sharing their experiences using the nGenius Solution to optimize network and application performance, giving other attendees powerful tips and best practices to return home with. NetScout senior engineering staff engaged the user congregation in a lively question and answer session on NetScout products & product plans. Last, a closing session focused users on advancing their management initiatives to the next level of sophistication using the nGenius Solution.

"The NetScout User Forum is growing rapidly, as evidenced by our standing- room-only event last week," said Michael Szabados, senior vice president of product operations for NetScout Systems. "NetScout is committed to using this forum as a principal means of connecting with customers to collaborate, exchange ideas and help them get the most from their investment in our nGenius Solutions."
