Integration with HP OpenView Network Node Manager Offers More Proactive and Integrated Management of Network and Application Performance

WESTFORD, Mass., July 11 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- NetScout Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: NTCT), a leading provider of network and application performance management solutions, today announced that it has achieved certification of its nGenius Performance Management System's integration with HP OpenView Network Node Manager. Accompanying the certification, NetScout has become a Platinum Business Partner in the HP Enterprise Management Alliance Program.

The integration of the NetScout nGenius Solution with HP OpenView can be delivered to a single desktop or as part of a comprehensive enterprise management system and is designed to let IT managers proactively manage their network and their applications' impact on the network in an integrated fashion. The HP certification is intended to provide customers with predictable and interoperable installations, and helps to reduce the number of management tools used, while offering a comprehensive view of the network from HP OpenView Network Node Manager. With NetScout's nGenius Solution, customers have access to high definition performance management data, supporting rapid fault isolation, diagnosis and resolution for minimized downtime and improved IT services.

"The integration of these two complementary solutions is a positive step for both NetScout and HP OpenView," said Dennis Drogseth, vice president at Enterprise Management Associates. "NetScout brings clear value in capturing, analyzing and visualizing application flow-related information, which can be critical to the successful delivery and optimization of business services. As such, this integration meaningfully supports HP's broader objectives for enterprise infrastructure management as well as IT service management."

Through the certified integration of the products, HP OpenView Network Node Manager discovers and displays the status of nGenius Probes along with all other network devices to provide IT managers with a comprehensive view of their networks. Also, when the nGenius System detects a problem, it generates an alert on the HP OpenView console and provides the ability to launch nGenius Performance Manager for a detailed description of the performance incident as well as evidence of the components or applications at the root of the problem.

"The expansion of our relationship with HP is a milestone for NetScout, validating our application and network performance management technology for HP customers," said Bruce Sweet, vice president of business development at NetScout. "The HP OpenView offerings coupled with the nGenius System provide enterprises with a comprehensive, integrated application and infrastructure management solution. Our renewed and deeper relationship with HP is the direct result of NetScout's business objective to team with strategic partners to provide complete performance management solutions to broader IT organizations, for both existing and new customers."

"We are pleased that NetScout has achieved certification status of their integration of the nGenius Performance Management System with HP OpenView Network Node Manager," said Bob Steiner, director of Network Services Management, Management Software Business, HP. "With this combined solution, customers using HP management software have direct and immediate access to detailed network and application flow-related data from the nGenius System -- a powerful approach to enhancing the performance of customers' networked applications."

NetScout will be exhibiting and speaking at HP World 2005 in San Francisco from August 14-18.
