Integrated Application Performance and Network Topology Improve Workflow for Enterprises and Service Providers

WESTFORD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 29, 2007--NetScout Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: NTCT), an industry pace-setter for advanced network and application performance management, today announced it is working with HP to develop a tight integration with its technologies and HP Network Node Manager i-series (NNMi).

The combined solutions will bring the power of advanced, application-aware performance alarming, analysis and troubleshooting into the front line of IT support for both enterprise and service provider networks. The solutions will also enable early warning of application performance degradations and an integrated work flow for problem detection and root cause analysis, providing an edge to businesses in assuring quality delivery of applications and services on the network.

Service providers looking for new ways to respond to degradations in performance of services such as mobile IP, IPTV, or voice over IP can benefit from the integration of NetScout technologies and HP NNMi. The combined technologies can detect these performance degradations, resulting in improved customer experience and a reduction in revenue and subscriber loss.

"Through our alliance with HP, we will jointly develop a tight integration of NetScout's nGenius solution and the HP NNM i-series. This will deliver more power and data to the level-one operator precisely when they need it--when applications and business operations are impacted," said Michael Szabados, Chief Operating Officer, NetScout Systems. "Enabling this level of deep-dive troubleshooting will drive operator efficiency and reduce time-consuming and costly escalation."

"We hear from our customers that application performance issues across the network are challenging and costly to solve, due to the fact that today's management tools are disparate and level-one operators do not have access to network performance data," said Ramin Sayar, senior director of products, Software, HP. "The ability to integrate data into one view and workflow for level-one operators, through the integrated HP and NetScout technologies, helps companies reduce costs, providing for better business outcomes. This new joint capability will help HP provide our customers more of the next generation network management functions they need -an important addition to our already broad network management and Operations Support Systems (OSS) suite".

Johnson Controls (JCI), a global Fortune 100 company that creates smart environments where people live, work and travel, utilizes both HP Software and NetScout technologies in their network operations. "With three data centers around the globe and just over 1000 remote sites serving 136,000 employees, JCI needs an enterprise management system that gives end-to-end application performance visibility and qualified events for rapid troubleshooting," said Mark West, JCI's manager of global infrastructure network services. "Better workflow integration is key for us, and we'll be looking to the HP-NetScout combination to deliver just that."
