Computer Technology Employees Roll Up Their Sleeves to Support Local Children's Organizations

SAN JOSE, Calif., Feb 11, 2011 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- NetScout(R) Systems, Inc. today announced that employees from the company's San Jose site are teaming up with Habitat for Humanity Silicon Valley for its Playhouse Project. On Saturday, Feb. 12, approximately 25 NetScout employees and executives will arm themselves with hammers, power saws and paint brushes to build playhouses, which will be donated to local organizations that serve children. The NetScout team will undertake all aspects of construction from basic framing to assembly, roofing and painting.

"NetScout employees have a history of supporting the Silicon Valley community and giving generously of their time and money to worthy causes such as Habitat for Humanity and its Playhouse Project," said Ken Boyd, NetScout CIO and lead executive of the San Jose site. Habitat for Humanity has been selected by NetScout as a recipient of its corporate giving program. Over the past three years, NetScout donated $140,000, which was divided among the local divisions of Habitat for Humanity where NetScout has site presence.

NetScout continues its corporate sponsorship this year with a donation gift and volunteer employees for the Silicon Valley Playhouse Project. NetScout is contributing toward Habitat for Humanity's goal of constructing 50 playhouses planned by the end of 2011.

Habitat for Humanity Playhouse Project Details

Now in its second year, the Habitat for Humanity Silicon Valley Playhouse Project has donated playhouses to organizations including the Ronald McDonald House, InnVision, Community Solutions, Rebekah's Children's Services, Chamberlain Children's Center and the YWCA. In addition to supporting local children's organizations, proceeds from the playhouse project are helping to fund the building of affordable homes for low-income families in Santa Clara County. In 2011, Habitat for Humanity Silicon Valley is celebrating 25 years of transforming families and strengthening communities in Santa Clara County. With the help of volunteers, Habitat has build 50 homes since 1986 and is increasing building capacity in the coming years through programs like the Playhouse Project.
