Arbor Networks President Matthew Moynahan to Moderate Panel on Cybersecurity Policy at the State of the Net Conference

25 Jan 2016

BURLINGTON, MA, January 25, 2016Arbor Networks Inc., the security division of NETSCOUT (NASDAQ: NTCT), today announced that President Matthew Moynahan will moderate a panel at the State of the Net Conference titled Policy, Diplomacy, Technology: What’s Ahead for Cybersecurity?

Conference Overview

Sponsored by the Internet Education Foundation, The State of the Net is America’s premier Internet policy conference series. It brings together Internet stakeholders in government and in the private sector to explore the potential of a decentralized global Internet to promote communications, commerce and democracy.

Session Overview

Building a domestic and international framework to enhance our cybersecurity defenses continues to perplex policymakers and private industry. General consensus was that information-sharing would be the first step, but opinions of its efficacy vary widely. The Internet is no longer merely an e-commerce platform, but is deeply enmeshed in every aspect of our lives. As more business and communication is conducted online and the Internet of Things grows exponentially, so do the opportunities for attackers to exploit vulnerabilities in our commercial and critical systems, and information sharing won’t solve the underlying problem. Now that CISA has passed, we turn our attention to addressing the next series of threats and questions. What legal frameworks and international norms need to be created? What are the most effective ways to assess, prioritize and minimize risk? How should intelligence, law enforcement, and the military be involved in protecting critical infrastructure and critical data from attackers?
