Employees Join Special Olympics Athletes and Other San Jose Businesses for Inspiring Event

WESTFORD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 24, 2017-- NETSCOUT SYSTEMS, INC., (NASDAQ: NTCT), a leading provider of business assurance, a powerful combination of service assurance, cybersecurity, and business intelligence solutions, today announced its sponsorship of Special Olympics Northern California’s second annual Breakfast With Champions event. This year’s event will be held Wednesday, November 1, from 7:30am to 8:45am at The Westin San Jose in San Jose, CA. Featured speakers include San Jose Sharks’ general manager Doug Wilson and chief operating officer John Tortora, and Special Olympics athlete Ryan Epidendio. Frank Goodman, NETSCOUT vice president engineering for PFS Solutions, will introduce the speakers from the San Jose Sharks.

The event provides San Jose business and community members the opportunity to meet staff and athletes from Special Olympics Northern California and hear first-hand about the extent and impact of their programs. Proceeds from the event provide much-needed funding for more than 21,200 intellectually disabled athletes across Northern California who rely on the generous donations from the community to receive free sports training and competition throughout the year, and will also help support athletes participating in the 2018 Special Olympics USA Games in Seattle, WA.

“We support and encourage our employees to build strong relationships with nonprofits in the San Jose community. For the past ten years NETSCOUT employees have participated in events with Special Olympics Northern California and always find the experience motivating and rewarding,” said Michael Szabados, chief operating officer, NETSCOUT. “Sponsoring major events such as Breakfast With Champions directly benefits the Special Olympics athletes by supporting programs that teach sports and sportsmanship, which in turn leads to increased self-confidence that carries over into their daily lives.”

“We greatly appreciate the overwhelming support that NETSCOUT has shown our athletes throughout the last ten years,” said David Solo, president and CEO of Special Olympics Northern California. “Our programs have grown and evolved so much in the last decade and we’re now able to serve a larger audience than ever before. Through Special Olympics, individuals with intellectual disabilities are empowered to become active members of the community. We thank NETSCOUT for continuing to help change lives and I look forward to seeing what we can accomplish together in the future.”
