DDoS Managed Service Named Best Security Solution

WESTFORD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- NETSCOUT SYSTEMS, INC., (NASDAQ: NTCT), a leading provider of service assurance, security, and business analytics, today announced that the Arbor Cloud DDoS protection service has been named Best Security Solution at the Fierce Innovation Awards which were held at the NextGen Wireless Networks Summit in Dallas, TX.

“The Fierce Innovation Award recognizes the dedication and effort of the great team we have. A managed service is only as good as the people behind it. You find that out when it matters most, during an attack. When that time does come, Arbor Cloud customers are protected by an experienced team of DDoS incident responders,” said Brian McCann, NETSCOUT’s president of the core markets business unit.

NETSCOUT’s Arbor Cloud: Affordable, Fully-Managed DDoS Protection Service

NETSCOUT’s Arbor Cloud offers enterprise customers a fully-managed, best-practice distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) defense service that integrates on-premise DDoS protection and cloud-based mitigation for best practice defense of its users during any network attack.

NETSCOUT Arbor Edge Defense can be deployed as an appliance or virtual solution, delivering inline-visibility into traffic entering the network, and providing always-on DDoS attack detection and mitigation. The on-premise component can be managed by NETSCOUT as part of a fully managed service, or by the customer. NETSCOUT Arbor Edge Defense is enhanced by threat intelligence via the ATLAS Intelligence Feed (AIF). Developed by ASERT, the AIF includes geo-location data and automates the identification of attacks from known botnets and malware while ensuring that updates for new threats are automatically delivered without intrusive software upgrades. Working in unison with the AIF, NETSCOUT Arbor Edge Defense can also perform outbound blocking of communication from internal compromised hosts – essentially acting as the first and last line of defense for customers. Finally, NETSCOUT Arbor Edge Defense provides protection to existing infrastructure, such as firewalls and intrusion prevention systems (IPS), and to business-critical systems, which are frequent targets of DDoS attacks.

NETSCOUT’s patented Cloud Signaling capability integrates on-premise protection with cloud-based defenses, significantly reducing the time needed to mitigate attacks. This hybrid, multi-layer defense is an industry best practice for DDoS protection services, ensuring that enterprise networks are protected against advanced DDoS attacks.

Arbor Cloud’s on-demand, traffic-scrubbing service is staffed 24/7 by Arbor’s DDoS security experts, providing transparency of operation, including a view into blocked hosts and traffic scrubbing performance, offering the flexibility enterprises need to alter attack countermeasures and thresholds.
