NETSCOUT Systems Partners With GTP to Speed Network Management Deployments for E-business; MasterCare Solutions Offering to Focus on NetScout's nGenius System

16 May 2000
WESTFORD, Mass. and WHITE PLAINS, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 15, 2000--NetScout(R) Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:NTCT) announced today that it has selected Greenwich Technology Partners (GTP), a provider of e-business network infrastructure services, as its strategic partner for its new network management rapid deployment service, called MasterCare Solutions. This professional service offering will focus on deploying NetScout's recently announced nGenius(TM) system, an e-business performance management solution that delivers visibility and control of the front and back office network.

MasterCare Solutions enables customers to maximize the business benefits of currently installed NetScout solutions and define e-business and e-commerce migration strategies to reap the full benefits of nGenius. Additionally, GTP will enable NetScout customers to deploy and customize their network management solutions in typically 2 to 5 business days, representing a dramatic time savings over the common deployment cycle of many months for a complex network.

"The services offered under NetScout's MasterCare Solutions, combined with Greenwich Technology Partners' engineering expertise allowed us to have web-enabled customer views operational within a few days, and with minimal involvement from our internal staff," said John Enright, director of products and services at ValueWeb, a leading web hosting provider. "With the NetScout solution in place, we can provide our customers visibility into the amount of our network capacity they are using -- an essential component of our service offering,"

As NetScout's primary MasterCare Solutions partner, GTP will supply professional services for installation, configuration, and customization of NetScout's products on customer premises. Through NetScout's expanding training programs, GTP has attained the highest level of certification and technical competency available to any NetScout partner. GTP professionals will offer the planning and consulting services necessary for companies to implement and report on e-business initiatives and new Web services. MasterCare Solutions will enable customers to quickly understand and apply the essential components of NetScout's products to the management of Web site performance or the resolution of related network problems.

"In today's e-business environment, development and deployment cycles have shortened dramatically," said Michael Szabados, vice president of marketing, NetScout Systems, Inc. "With this partnership, we aim to accelerate the deployment of the nGenius, system and the full NetScout product line, so that our customers can gain maximum value in the shortest amount of time. By lifting the burden of configuration and training off the end user, providing valuable tips and lessons-learned, and escorting our users through the deployment process, we can better serve our customers as they grow their e-business infrastructures."

"Many of our customers have been using NetScout products to help them gain critical intelligence regarding the state of their large networks and to manage that performance proactively," said Joseph P. Beninati, chairman and CEO of Greenwich Technology Partners. "With the proliferation of e-business strategies, this partnership was a direct result of the demand we have seen in the marketplace for a one-stop solution that ties crucial implementation and consulting services to the NetScout product line. GTP is pleased to be the preferred North American provider of these services, and we look forward to a long-term business partnership with NetScout."

As a network technology consulting company focused on e-business infrastructure solutions, GTP has organized its core services into six key practice areas including: Network Management, Network Performance Management, Internetworking, Information Security, Directory Services, and Systems Engineering. The company's alliance with NetScout draws expertise from all of its core practice areas while leveraging in-depth training on the NetScout product line. GTP recently announced its eFoundations service, which is targeted at providing Internet companies with infrastructure services tailored to their needs. This partnership between GTP and NetScout will now provide additional services to GTP's Internet-focused clients, who are often looking for network performance management solutions.
