nGenius Creates System-Wide Visibility and Control of Mission-Critical Banking
Applications While Improving Network Cost Efficiencies
WESTFORD, Mass., March 20 --
NetScout Systems (Nasdaq: NTCT) today announced that the Agricultural
Development Bank of China (ADBC) has selected NetScout's nGenius Performance
Management System(TM) to manage the performance and costs of its new, wide
area network. ADBC's purchase of nGenius reflects the bank's increased use of
the network for strategic business and the importance of assuring reliability
and performance of new critical banking applications as they are delivered
system-wide.
The ADBC is a policy-led agricultural bank in P.R. China. nGenius will
provide a centralized network management solution for the bank -- starting
with 36 regional headquarters. Among the new services being rolled out across
its new network is an on-line transaction processing system called an
'Electronic Interbanking System' aimed at speeding transactions between the
bank's main processing center and 2,300 branches. The bank is also planning
to introduce new, on-line banking services for its customers.
"Our branches are widely-dispersed throughout China with numerous network
managers operating from those remote locations," said Zhou Zhiduo, chief
engineer of the Information and Computer Department, ADBC. "NetScout's
nGenius solution gives us flexible, secure access to critical performance
information via the Web, anytime it is needed. Having a centralized
performance management solution with remote access to real-time information
allows us to maximize the efficiency of our current staffing and limit the
additional resources we deploy at remote locations."
The financial industry continues to lead in the deployment of mission-
critical networking among enterprises, globally. ADBC is among those leading
institutions implementing nGenius as a means of reliably harnessing the
potential of business applications to create business advantage.
"We are establishing a strong position with top financial companies across
Asia and Europe," said Michael Szabados, senior vice president of product
operations, NetScout Systems. "For this emerging market, nGenius is
facilitating more confident deployment of mission-critical applications by
delivering clear views into network complexities and performance. nGenius
allows these enterprises to proactively reduce the risks associated with
degradations and downtime, and address demands for increased services-without
having to spend on excess resources."
