Colorado Division of Wildlife, Kodak and Verizon Information Services Rely on NetScout's nGenius Solution

WESTFORD, Mass., June 13 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- NetScout Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: NTCT), a leading provider of network performance management solutions, today announced several new and repeat customers using the nGenius(R) Performance Management System. By choosing the nGenius solution, these companies are improving their ability to optimize the performance and control the costs associated with delivering networked applications to end-users.

Among NetScout's newest customers is the Colorado Division of Wildlife, a state government agency that manages, regulates and protects Colorado's 960 wildlife species. The agency selected the nGenius solution to begin proactively managing its mission-critical network, including monitoring the impact of new applications as they get deployed to 18 offices throughout Colorado.

In addition, Eastman Kodak Company, the leader in helping people take, share, enhance, preserve, print and enjoy pictures, recently expanded its nGenius solution to increase the efficiency and control the costs of its global wide area network. Kodak is monitoring and reporting on over- and under-utilized segments of the network in combination with identifying the performance issues and bandwidth requirements of individual applications.

Also, Verizon Information Services, the world's leading print and online directory publisher, recently expanded its nGenius solution to enhance the performance of its local and wide area networks supporting 106 locations in the U.S. Using nGenius, Verizon is monitoring and reporting on the performance and bandwidth requirements of its standard enterprise and proprietary applications.

"With the nGenius solution, enterprises get tighter control over WAN bandwidth costs by gaining views into the resource requirements of individual applications and where under-utilized bandwidth exists within their networks," said Jim Frey, vice president of marketing, NetScout Systems, Inc. "Using this information, they can work with designers to tune poorly performing applications, reduce bandwidth over provisioning, and redirect traffic to where excess capacity exists. No other solution provides such a comprehensive view of network and application efficiency."

The nGenius Performance Management System unifies performance management for the converging enterprise. NetScout's flagship management application, nGenius(R) Performance Manager, leverages the unified data made available through NetScout's patent-pending CDM(TM) technology to deliver consistent utilization, response time and availability metrics for real-time monitoring and troubleshooting, protocol analysis, capacity planning and historical reporting from a single solution.
