WESTFORD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 17, 2006--NetScout Systems,
Inc. (NASDAQ: NTCT), a leading provider of network and application
performance management solutions, has been named to the "Globe 100"
list of top performing public companies in Massachusetts. Boston Globe
Business Editor Caleb Solomon announced the list yesterday.
Based on a composite score derived from financial data for the
four quarters ending December 31, 2005, NetScout was ranked 66th among
Mass.-based companies whose stock is publicly traded on NASDAQ, New
York Stock Exchange or American Stock Exchange.
"The companies in the Globe 100 represent the brightest lights of
the Massachusetts economy," said Solomon. "This year's top 10 Globe
100 companies span a variety of industries - Internet and
communications technologies, defense contracting and technology,
biotech, life sciences, and financial services. This diversity is key
to the strength of the region in the ever-changing and competitive
global economy."
The Globe 100, now in its 18th year, ranks Mass.-based public
companies based on financial data from the four quarters ending
closest to December 31, 2005, and for corresponding quarters a year
earlier. To qualify for the Globe 100, a company must have been public
for the entire 2005 calendar year and have reported a positive net
income for both 2004 and 2005.
"The Boston Globe's recognition of NetScout is a testament to our
revenue growth and increasing profit margins, driven by the strong
demand for our solutions, our product leadership position in both
enterprise and wireless carrier markets, and our solid execution,"
said David Sommers, chief financial officer and senior vice president
of general operations at NetScout. "We are focused on maintaining that
momentum and continuing to grow earnings per share to create higher
shareholder value."
