NetScout Users to Convene in Miami This Fall to Focus on Reducing Mean Time To Restore

WESTFORD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 31, 2007--NetScout Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: NTCT), the industry pace-setter for advanced network and service assurance solutions, today formally announced that it will be holding the sixth annual NetScout User Forum (NUF) Conference on October 8-12, 2007 at the InterContinental Hotel in Miami, Florida.

This year's conference will emphasize the "Race to Resolution" -- the process IT operations teams go through when faced with the need to rapidly recognize, diagnose, and resolve business- and service-affecting performance degradations. NetScout's users are familiar with this challenge. A recent customer survey revealed the nGenius(R) Performance Management System has cut network performance problem diagnosis times by nearly 70 percent, and at the NUF Conference 2007 customers will have ample opportunities to learn how to reduce Mean Time To Restore (MTTR) even further.

Record attendance is expected, as the NetScout User Forum is growing rapidly. At the time of last year's event, Forum membership stood at 1,000, and today the Forum has more than 1,600 members. The Forum is also increasingly interactive, and the user community blog (found at www.NUFBlog.com), proved to be a valuable resource for NetScout and its user community to share ideas and establish must-cover topics for NUF Conference 2007. As a result, many user-driven topics are on the agenda, including extended hands-on and instructor-driven training and both beginner and advanced session tracks. It is anticipated that the NUFBlog will become a permanent venue to continue discussions that start in Miami.

Additionally, NUF Conference attendees will make use of hand-held electronic "tag" devices throughout the week to help meet and interact with each other as well as NetScout experts. At the end of the conference each attendee will take with them a personalized set of contacts to continue the dialogue throughout the year.

The customer-driven agenda includes:

  • More than 40 interactive sessions, plus "Birds of a Feather" roundtable discussions
  • For beginner users: "The First 100 Hours--How should you spend the first 2 - 3 weeks of rolling out the nGenius System?"
  • For advanced users: "Packet Analysis University"
  • Daily "best practice" sessions and panels led by nGenius System users from a variety of industries as well as NetScout executives and experts
  • Keynote speech by industry luminary Jim Metzler

"Our users want help not only addressing their MTTR goals, but also making our solutions more prominent and prevalent throughout their organizations," said June Nugent, director of knowledge resources for NetScout and NUF liaison. "We'll show them the latest NetScout offerings, including AFMon and Analytics, help them keep up to date on the latest trends in network technologies for QoS, VoIP, and MPLS, and give them details on how to use our products for best results. Our users will be able to share their challenges and learn from each other--there's something for everyone at this year's NUF."
