NetScout Products Offer Comprehensive Network Visibility to

                     Optimize Application Delivery

WESTFORD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 4, 2007--NetScout Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: NTCT), the industry pacesetter for advanced network and service assurance solutions, today announced that Sony (China) Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sony Corporation, has deployed NetScout's nGenius(R) Solution to proactively monitor and analyze applications in order to assure the performance of critical business systems.

Founded in 1996, Sony (China) Ltd. represents Sony Corporation to invest in electronic and information industries, promote Sony products, provide post-sales services, as well as provide comprehensive management and business support to all Sony-owned subsidiaries and continuous business expansion in China. Sony (China) Ltd. employs more than 32000 people with revenue exceeding US$4.7 billion. Sony (China) Ltd.'s network is responsible for supporting the company's business operations. The data center located Shanghai serves as the core of this network. Via ATM/E1 WAN and Ethernet links, this network connects business systems, sales and marketing subsidiaries, and manufacturing facilities, as well as the Sony Corporation's headquarters in Japan.

Sony (China) Ltd. installed nGenius ATM, E1, and Fast Ethernet probes at its core network and realizes comprehensive real-time network monitoring of the network. Through nGenius(R) Performance Manager, network administrators can now conduct timely analysis of the rich data collected by the nGenius(R) Probes and solve application performance issues. "Before using the nGenius Solution, we could see only some high-level traffic statistics such as utilization," said Peter Lu, Network Supervisor of IT Solutions Department, Information Infrastructure Technology Division, Information Systems & Solutions Group, at Sony (China) Ltd. "These types of statistics are not sufficient to help us identify application performance problems and ensure the quality of mission-critical applications. Now, with the broad visibility provided by the nGenius System into all applications, we know exactly what is running on the network. Once we identify improper use of bandwidth by certain applications, such as unnecessary file sharing during peak times or downloading for recreational purposes, we can immediately stop such activities, prevent network abuse, and assure the bandwidth and performance of key business applications like ERP, VoIP, and video conferencing. The nGenius Solution has improved our ability to proactively monitor and analyze business applications."

Flexible and robust reports are another major benefit to Sony (China) Ltd. A staff member can present real-time data in a graph once he identifies an application performance issue and generate an ad hoc report to be used either as evidence or to share with colleagues for collaborative troubleshooting. Lu continued, "It is very easy to produce and use nGenius System reports. These reports not only provide detailed insight into business applications but also help us save time and improve productivity."

"Large enterprises like Sony need comprehensive visibility into networked applications to support business operations," said Jim Frey, vice president of marketing at NetScout. "The nGenius Solution's capabilities of identifying and monitoring all applications, hosts, and conversations as well as response times in complex enterprise networks help optimize application performance and the use of network resources."
