Global Technology Company Continues Tradition of Helping Raise Funds for Year-Long Programs

WESTFORD, Mass., Mar 03, 2011 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- NetScout Systems(R), Inc.today announced that the company is participating in the 2011 Special Olympics Northern California and Nevada annual Celebrity Winterfest(R) event. The company is sponsoring the welcome reception and providing a corporate ski team this weekend, March 4 - March 6, at Diamond Peak, Lake Tahoe. For four years, NetScout has raised their ski poles in support of the annual race, which builds funding for approximately 17,000 developmentally disabled athletes across Northern California and Nevada.

The Celebrity Winterfest is a high-profile, event-packed weekend that provides a unique opportunity for company team building, client development, and fun head-to-head competition between participating companies. Each corporate ski team of eight is paired with a celebrity and Special Olympic athlete, all who must complete a modified Giant Slalom course with a minimum of 10 gates. Proceeds from the weekend's events will provide much-needed funding to continue free sports training and competition events all year long.

"Over the years as a board member and longtime supporter of the Special Olympics Northern California chapter, I have witnessed how these events and programs build bonds between business and community," said Ken Boyd, CIO and senior vice president of services, NetScout. "With participants from our east and west coast offices headed for the slopes, this year promises to be a memorable team and community building event for all involved."
