nGenius Service Assurance Solution Selected to Monitor the Real-Time Operation of InteropNet for the Third Year in a Row
WESTFORD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May. 2, 2012-- NetScout® Systems, Inc. today announced it has been selected to help manage service and application delivery to attendees, exhibitors and conference sessions at Interop Las Vegas, being held May 6 - 10, 2012, at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center. The nGenius® Service Assurance Solution will provide unified views of converged service traffic including applications, voice, video and multimedia flowing across the InteropNet, a multi-tier, multi-location service delivery environment, which has been described as the world's largest temporary IT network.
Conference organizers at UBM TechWeb charged with providing IT services at Interop chose nGenius Service Assurance Solution by NetScout for its ability to optimize the performance of delivered services, protect the user experience and simplify service delivery management. Exhibitors and attendees rely on InteropNet for multiple services ranging from email access to voice, video conferencing and telepresence, in addition to Internet connectivity. The nGenius Service Assurance Solution will provide InteropNet administrators with granular visibility into their network environment by capturing and analyzing real-time IP traffic flows. Leveraging the actionable insight resulting from that analysis, administrators will be able to identify and resolve critical issues, as well as proactively predict and preempt future issues before they impact end-users attending Interop.
InteropNet will feature multiple data centers serving a diverse set of end-users, all expecting consistent, high-quality service and application performance. This year's InteropNet was constructed using three geographically located data centers in Sunnyvale, California; Denver, Colorado; and Newark, New Jersey. All network traffic to and from the Interop show will flow through Las Vegas and traverse one or all of these data centers in order to reach the Internet or servers contained within InteropNet. Users will access InteropNet on multiple types of access devices running over both wired and wireless connections.
At Interop Las Vegas, the InteropNet Network Operations Center (NOC) and NetScout's booth #1351 will have plasma screens installed allowing attendees to see the nGenius Service Assurance Solution in action. Displayed on the plasma screens, nGenius Service Delivery Manager will provide a real-time dashboard view of network-wide service status, actionable alerts and warnings for emerging performance problems. This year's deployment will have approximately 10 distributed nGenius InfiniStream® appliances and will also include several nGenius Virtual Agents deployed within VMware® servers. Tours of the entire InteropNet NOC are available.
