T-Mobile Austria Expands NetScout’s Existing 3G Deployment to Support
their Focus on Exceptional Customer Experiences for their New LTE Network
WESTFORD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 19, 2014--
NetScout® Systems, Inc.
today announced that T-Mobile Austria has selected NetScout to assure
service delivery and provide operational intelligence for their national
Long Term Evolution (LTE) network, expanding NetScout’s existing
deployment in T-Mobile’s third-generation (3G) HSPA+ network. The nGenius®
solution provides T-Mobile with a single service assurance platform
to support data and multimedia services to assure a seamless subscriber
experience on and between their 2G, 3G and LTE networks.
T-Mobile Austria is a recognized innovator in mobile communications with
more than 4.1 million direct subscribers and a high volume of roaming
traffic. The nGenius solution provides T-Mobile Austria with a deep
understanding of LTE network and service performance and quality with
critical real-time insight into traffic volumes, latency, service
enablers and 3G-LTE hand-offs. Granular traffic visibility allows
operations staff to track all application traffic and assess its impact
on system performance and overall user experience on a community and
per-user level. The nGenius solution proactively identifies emerging
performance problems and allows efficient failure analysis to help
assure service quality.
T-Mobile Austria is leveraging an extensive range of operational
intelligence from the nGenius solution to track service and network
volumes, understand application and Over the Top (OTT) application
usage, and improve network planning to support continuous network and
service optimization. The intelligence provided enables proactive
optimization of capacity and performance and accurately pinpoints areas
that require tuning or additional resource investments. In addition,
T-Mobile is leveraging the extensive range of service, user and device
usage metrics from the nGenius solution to support customer experience
management reporting.
“In Austria network quality is very important, and without the
appropriate service quality you cannot survive. Our customers have very
high performance expectations, so our highest priority is to
continuously improve our customers’ experience to deliver more
incremental value,” said Athanasios Avgeridis, senior vice president
operations for technology at T-Mobile Austria. “Our monitoring
capabilities are strategically important to us, and every Euro we have
invested in NetScout has brought us substantial value with a very strong
return on investment. We selected NetScout to assure our LTE network
based upon our experience with their proven scalability, reliability and
high quality data, as well as their leading ability to support our
future service plans.”
The nGenius solution provides a real-time, end-to-end service-centric
perspective of networks, services and subscribers, enabling mobile
operators to proactively manage service performance, availability and
quality. Analyzing both data and control plane traffic, the nGenius
Solution reveals how network, application and service enabler
interdependencies impact service performance and the subscriber
experience. The nGenius solution’s predictive early warning capabilities
helps prevent outages by identifying emerging performance degradations,
allowing proactive recognition, triage and resolution before performance
problems can impact large numbers of subscribers. The extensive network
intelligence provided by the nGenius solution enables operators to
leverage their service assurance investments for operational
intelligence to understand usage trends, identify new service
opportunities, improve organizational efficiency and make better
business decisions.
“We are very pleased to have been selected by T-Mobile Austria to
support their national LTE network,” said Steven Shalita, vice
president, marketing at NetScout. “The nGenius solution provides
powerful, vendor-independent operational intelligence that allows
operators to achieve end-to-end visibility into all services and users
to more effectively assure service quality, improve operational
efficiency and deliver the best possible user experience to maximize
subscriber value.”
Over the past five years, NetScout has achieved significant traction
across service provider markets, with deployments in all segments
including wireless, wireline, cable/multi-system (MSOs) and satellite
operators. The nGenius technology is deployed 165 service provider
production networks in 48 countries including 48 operators in North
